On to the Hunt!

During my time in Wales I met so many wonderful people, and the passion
they feel for the hunt, which is the livelihood of many countrymen in the
United Kingdom, is infectious.
David Jones, Huntmen for the David Davies Hunt,

to hunt on foot because the ground gets so wet from all the rain.
David Jones calls the hounds up with help from Lord Davies.
We were fortunate enough to go on a joint hunt with the Snowden
Hunt Pack in Northern Wales. These are the Snowden Kennels.
It was so interesting to see so many terriers of David's that are the
foundation dogs for many, many breeding programs in the United States and
Great Britain. I was fortunate enough to bring back an incredible female
pup from his kennel named Dash. I also have a male from David, Duncan, and he
is a wonderful dog. Their temperaments are so mild it's hard to believe
that they are even the same breed as some of the terriers I see in rescue.
This is a view in Northern Wales, where we hunted with the Snowden Pack.
These are the terriermen for the Snowden Pack. They use mostly Patterdale
(Fell) Terriers and Lakeland Terriers in the northern part of the country.
While hunting in Northern Wales, we had a beautiful view of the Irish Sea.
Our trip also took us on a one-day outing to Herefordshire, England, where
we spent the day with Terry and Eileen Petrie. It is from Terry that I
acquired Spinner - a beautiful Jack Russell female that I am very proud to
have.
Steve & I look forward to having David and Susan as our guests when they
visit Texas in April 2002 to judge our club's trial.
My trip was an experience I will never forget and I hope that other
terrier lovers will gain something from this pictorial of it.
