Jack Russell Terrier Books

The Complete Idiot's Guide To Jack Russell Terriers

by Deborah Britt-Hay

This informative, interesting and easy-to-read book covers all aspects of owning and/or being owned by a Jack Russell Terrier. Nutrition, purchasing a puppy, health care, and training are just a few of the topics addressed in this book. Everything is written in a simple and straight forward manner that is both educational and unpretentious. This is an invaluable reference guide!

The Jack Russell Terrier :
An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet

by Catherine Romaine Brown

This book has plenty of in depth information on the JRT history, training, housebreaking, grooming, first-aid, diseases, outdoor activities, diet, and information as to how this breed interacts with other family members and the community. Very useful and insightful.

The Jack Russell Terrier : Courageous Companion
by Catherine Romaine Brown

Ms. Brown offers a comprehensive view of life with the average Jack Russell Terrier; she also warns us that there is no such thing as an "average" Jack Russell. The information is presented with humor and genuine admiration for this quirky, sturdy and brazen breed. The text is complimented with stunning color photographs of dogs and puppies in action. Ms. Brown also highlights some of the great foundation dogs and it is always a thrill to find one in your new pup's pedigree. This is a wonderful first book for those considering a JRT, and we veteran owners appreciate a reference book that looks beautiful on the coffee table -- it is a welcome relief from the dead mice our JRTs leave for us under our beds!

The Complete Jack Russell Terrier
by D. Brian Plummer, David R. Plummer

The history of the Jack is put here better than it has been put in any other book. No matter what kind of Jack you have, they are all correct. They can be the tall square type known as Parson, or they can be the short-legged type, which is the longer in body than their legs are tall, know as Jack Russell Terriers or English or Australian. And yes folks they can even be solid color ones. They can and are all of these types because the Jack Russell Terrier has all kinds of different breeds breed into it. This is what makes them so special to the ones who love them!

Jack Russell Terriers : Everything About
Purchase, Care, Nutrition, Behavior, and Training

by D. Caroline Coile, Tana Hakanson

What Makes Jack Russell Terriers So Different?; The Nature of the Beast; In Search of a Jack Russell Terrier; Your Jack Russell Terrier at Home; Jack Russell Terriers Can be Trained; JRT Nutrition; Jack Russell Terrier Maintenance; Jack Russell Terrier Repair; The Next Generation; Jack of All Trades. For all of its appeal as an irascible fun-loving scamp, the JRT was born to hunt. These dogs seek out trouble. That's part of their appeal, but also part of the difficulty of living with them. This book provides both prospective and current JRT owners with information specific to this most versatile of breeds. If you decide you are ready to take a walk on the wild side, begin your adventure with the best JRT companion out there. Finding a good JRT entails special challenges, and the tips contained here will help buyers avoid the many pitfalls involved. Add to this advice on JRT health, grooming, training, feeding, breeding, and enjoying, and you should be ready to begin the adventure of a lifetime.

Pet Owner's Guide to the Jack Russell Terrier
by John Valentine

A very useful and informative book full of good, solid information about the JRT. We recommend this book highly to people interested in potentially purchasing a JRT. We have been so pleased that we give a copy with each puppy leaving our home. A super and inexpensive reference full of wonderful color photos.

Ultimate Jack Russell Terrier
by Mary Strom (Editor)

Definitly the ultimate book on Jack Russell Terriers. Lots of color photos, and useable information. A must for any breed enthusiast.

Jack Russell Terriers Today
by Sheila Atter

Ms. Atter has compiled a lot of breed information and I found the book entertaining and informative. I have bred, shown and handled many breeds and decided several years ago that I wanted good, smart small working dogs with attitude. JRT's were my pick, but it was only a couple of years ago I started with them. I has compiled quite a lot of books by then. Most general care, beginner and "pet" books. This was my first I classified as a "reference" and while it lacks in a few areas, it shows a great insight into a wonderful breed. Well worth the time, read and money!
