"Harley" the Leader of Our Pack
Located in the heart of North Texas, and serving all major metroplitan areas!
Originally located near Austin, Texas, and currently located near Fort Worth, Leader of the Pack is proud to offer the best dog training available for your pet dog. Unlike other programs that train your dog in a kennel environment, we do all of the training in our home in real-life situations. We have also fine-tuned our program to make it shorter in duration and therefore less expensive than our competition. We believe that your dog must be trained in an environment similar to where it lives in order for the program to be effective.

Lucy the French Bulldog, Maggie the Goldendoodle, and Dixie the Great Dane show off their new manners during a training exercise. As you can see, I'm definitely not limited in the breeds I train!
The American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen training program focuses entirely on good dog manners, responsible pet ownership, and conveys through acceptable behavior what is expected of all dogs in the community. It is a wonderful program that was designed with the pet dog owner in mind.
We are located on two acres near Burleson, Texas. Our exercise area is secured by a 3/4 acre privacy fence, well equipped with lots of squirrels and birds to chase! Our Jack Russell Terriers and Rhodesian Ridgeback provide ample socialization and playtime for your pet. When not napping or training, pets are allowed to romp and stomp in the play area for much of the day. If your dog is an indoor pet, it will be kept inside with me, treated as a member of my family for the duration of it's stay.

We don't have a lot of cat's at Leader of the Pack, but we do love this one!!

Experience and Expertise

Wendy, Woody, and Remi out for a night of Fun at the Fort Worth Cat's Baseball
Team's annual "Bark in the Park." Woody and Remi are showing off their good manners!
I am a former member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and served as
Obedience Chairperson for the Gulf Coast Jack Russell Terrier Network for four
years, where I developed and organized the first sanctioned obedience
competition for the club. I have also served as an Obedience Judge for the club,
having judged sub-novice, novice and open obedience competitions and terrier racing in sanctioned Jack Russell Terrier trials. I am also an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. As a hobby, I raise Jack Russell Terriers and other working terrier breeds and I show my Rhodesian Ridgeback and Border Terrier at AKC competitions and sometimes handle for other people in need of assistance at shows, and I show and compete with Jack Russells and colored terriers at JRTCA sanctioned shows and working shows all over the United States. I actively use my terriers in the field as a service to people with animal infestation problems. I also have a BA from Texas A&M University, where I studied Speech/Communcations. I became a professional dog trainer after getting my first Jack Russell Terrier, Harley, in 1996. I was so involved in his training that I was offered a job at the training facility that I was taking him to. I did that for several years as a hobby while doing marketing for a dog magazine and then for the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and during that time taught classes to hundreds of people and their pets. After moving to a rural location, I began my board and train program and it has been very successful for families and their pets. I have also trained pet containment for Invisible Fence and taken numerous training, behavior, and animal welfare courses not listed here. I am a certified Animal Control Officer which gives me experience working with many types of dogs and other animals in almost every situation. I am constantly looking at new ways to help families accomplish their goals with their pets. When not at home training and caring for doggies, I am an Animal Cruelty Investigator for large city on the metroplex. My dedication and love for animals (especially dogs) has been lifelong, and there is nothing I would rather do that spend my life working with dogs and their families and helping to prevent some of the cruelty that people inflict on these amazing and forgiving creatures. Thank you for visiting our site. I hope you find just what you are looking for to make your pet a well-mannered member of your family!!
